Teams We Support

FIRST Lego League (FLL)

The Alpha Dogs run and mentor 2 FLL teams. The Delta Pups and Gamma Pups have competed in 2 FLL seasons. These students, in grades 5-8, meet at the Caledon Public Library with youth mentors from The Alpha Dogs to design, build and program fascinating lego machines, capable of many unique tasks. They also learn important skills like problem-solving, and teamwork. These teams then take their robots to events where they compete one on one against other teams at the event and present their Innovation Project to judges.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)

In partnership with our school, The Alpha Dogs launched FTC teams 19468 and 22242. These teams are an extension of the school’s grade 12 robotics program, with the top 2 teams in the class becoming the competition teams. Alongside these teams, The Alpha Dogs host the Bolton FTC Qualifying tournament, one of the largest tournaments in Ontario. This event brings together team members, mentors, alumni, and members of our community as volunteers for an action-packed day!

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)

The Alpha Dogs are helping to bring the FRC experience to more high schools in Ontario. We partnered with team 8884, Crimson Revolution, from Northern Secondary School to help them through their first season. We have continued to support them, providing equipment and knowledge. We have also opened our practice facility for other teams to use, including hosting a scrimmage event where teams can test their robots in competition conditions before their first event.
