Bolton Santa Claus Parade
On Saturday, December 3rd, the Alpha Dogs participating in the Bolton Parade along with members from the Humberview Secondary School band, several sports teams from the school, and the COPE service dogs and their student trainers participated in the Bolton Santa Clause Parade. Children watching the parade enjoyed seeing the robot shoot the ball, and received Team 4946 buttons with other goodies. Everyone along the parade route was getting into the holiday spirit.
Markham Santa Claus Parade
On Saturday, November 26th, the Alpha Dogs teamed up with Team 4001 Ram Robotics and Team 5428 Breaking Bots to participate in the Markham Santa Claus parade. It was a great, fun time for everyone who participated. We enjoyed seeing the smiles on the children's face was a great way to soak in the spirit of the season.
Haunted Hill Run
It was a wet and windy day on October 30th when the Alpha Dogs started the 6th annual Haunted Hill Run hosted by Bolton Rotary. They also brought along Sir Cyr, their 2015-2016 robot, to demonstrate and answer questions about the robotics program after the run.
Fall Fiesta
The Alpha Dogs participated in the 2016 FRC Fall Fiesta on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 in Victoria Park Secondary School in Toronto. Using their First Stronghold robot which carried them to the GTR Central semi - finals, The Alpha Dogs finished the qualifiers in 8th place, and then was the alliance captain with 4001 and 5428 and made it to the semi - finals, before their day was over. They also won the Imagery Award, This award celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance.
